The generator purchase price is only one part of a backup-power project. Ask for a scope that identifies electrical work, site work and responsibilities assigned to other trades.
Installation items to clarify
Check the transfer equipment, electrical connections, equipment pad, fuel connection, routing and required approvals. Ask whether excavation, landscaping and finished-surface repair are included or excluded. Not every property needs every item.
Conditions that can change the price
The selected location, route lengths, available electrical and fuel infrastructure, and access can affect the work. Ask how hidden conditions and owner-requested changes will be priced and approved. An allowance is not the same as a fixed included scope.
Costs after handover
Request maintenance requirements and clarify fuel, monitoring or service-plan charges. Compare proposals on the same equipment and supported loads. Avoid treating an unverified national average as a quote for your address.
