Once the charger location and required approvals are established, focus on site access, installation and handover. This checklist covers that stage rather than repeating the permit application guide.
Before the installation visit
Confirm that the selected equipment matches the approved scope and is available. Keep the parking area and agreed route accessible. Tell the contractor about changes to the vehicle, charger or property since the assessment; they may affect the design or approvals.
During the work
Agree which circuits will be interrupted and who needs notice. Circuit sizing, protection and wiring methods must follow the actual equipment and installation requirements; a universal wire gauge from an online article is not an installation specification.
At handover
Ask how to use the charger, where its instructions are stored and what inspection closeout remains. Confirm app ownership and any network setup without sharing passwords in public messages. Keep permit and equipment records. Do not begin using unfinished or unapproved work simply because the charger powers on.
